This business is owned by a first responder, Criss.  In over 20 years of being a first responder, I have seen a lot, and the old adage of "we can't unsee things" is 100% true.  We live with what we experienced ,and too many front line workers, military vets, trauma survivors, those who are have mental illnesses, and those who are faced with adversity every day of their lives, such as many members of the LGBTQ+ communities, are simply not getting the support they need and deserve.

Have you thanked a front line worker or a military veteran lately for leaving their family to help or protect yours?

Here is the plain truth: front line workers and military vets miss holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, recitals, and many other important family events.  We put YOUR families BEFORE our own.  We go to work and never know what will happen - and in the case of Police Officers, we don't know if we'll see our family again.  Let that sink in for a minute. We go to work not knowing whether we will be back to hug our partner/spouse/children again, and our partners/spouses know that. Every.single.shift (particularly those in uniformed policing)!

Military personnel are deployed for months at a time, away from their families and into potentially volatile situations.  Away from their families for months and in times of war, they don't know whether they'll be back.

We don't know what we'll see, what we'll hear, what we'll experience and have to deal with.  But we do it - because we give a damn and because we want the communities we serve to be safer for everyone.

All this can take its toll on our mental health, and since Lionheart Clothing Co. is located in Nova Scotia, we are proud to support the following mental health charitable organizations that serve the front line worker community:

Helping the Helpers: https://www.helpingthehelpers.ca

Lionheart will donate 10% from the proceeds of every front-line and Armed Forces edition apparel sale to that incredible charitable organization!

For the LGBTQ+ communities, who are also often unheard, Lionheart will donate 10% from the proceeds of every LGBTQ+ apparel sale to The Youth Project, which "...is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to providing support and services to youth, 25 and under, around issues of sexual orientation and gender identity. "

The Youth Project website: https://youthproject.ns.ca

There are so many kinds of Lionhearts, we would love to have a coloured heart for all of them, but it's not realistic.  Instead, we ask that you consider buying the original edition, as that one represents everyone.

With much love, thanks for your support!
